If you're looking for quick answers our meter type guide might be able to help.
If you run out of credit outside of our friendly credit hours, your meter will go off supply. You’ll then need to top up before reconnecting your meter, making sure to add enough credit to cover any energy you’ve used during the friendly credit hours as well as your ongoing energy use. We have helpful guides on our website explaining how to reconnect your meter. Remember, even when your meter is off supply it will continue to collect the daily standing charges and your repayment rate for any outstanding balance. You’ll need to top up enough credit to cover these and your ongoing energy use to get back on supply. If your meter is showing less than £1 and you’re not able to top up right away, you can activate emergency credit.
How to access friendly credit hours?
If you run out of credit during the friendly credit hours, your friendly credit will be activated. It will only be activated if there was some credit at the start of the period. The friendly credit added will be added onto your meter as a debt and you'll need to pay any credit you use over this period the next time you top up.
